Get the DIRT Out!
Take action against one of the biggest problems in our watershed: polluted runoff from construction sites. In our new “Get the DIRT Out” volunteer program, residents learn how to evaluate the polluted runoff violations on construction sites, report violations, and help ensure that construction sites are not contaminating our rivers and streams.

What to do and forms you will need:
1. View and print the Site Report (MD) / (VA) / (PA) and the Field Guide (MD) / (VA) / (PA). You will need these documents to make observations at your site. Keep a copy of the Site Report and mail original to Potomac Riverkeeper.

3. Call us at 202-222-0707 (for Shenandoah Valley call 540-837-1479). Also contact local authorities to report problems (MD) / (VA) / (PA).
4. Document your followup actions on the Log Form. Keep a copy and mail original to Potomac Riverkeeper.
5. To be a volunteer in the Get the DIRT Out program, you must complete and send in a Liability Waiver. (Forms will be available at all trainings.)
6. And remember.... do not trespass on private property.
