Join Anacostia Watershed Society as we inaugurate a new competitive paddling course in the nation's capital. The 11-mile out-and-back course from The Yards Park to Bladensburg will take paddlers past urban sites like Nationals Park, Navy Yard, the US Capitol, and RFK Stadium and natural vistas like the National Arboretum and Kenilworth Marsh. Prizes available in canoe and kayak classes, with age group awards (TBD). Recreational paddlers are invited to try their hand at racing on a shorter 7-mile course. Wounded warriors can register for either event for free.

After the race, enjoy an energetic festival on the banks of the river at The Yards Park. Cheer on the racers and enjoy food trucks, live music, free canoeing on the lower river, and exhibits and demonstrations from outdoor retailers, generously supported by the Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District.
